About Hōdatsushimizu Town
Hodatsushimizu Town, Hakui District, Ishikawa Prefecture, is one of two towns in Hakui District, located almost in the center of Ishikawa Prefecture. Mount Murodatsu, located in the southeastern part of the town, is the highest mountain on the Noto Peninsula, standing at 637 meters above sea level. This area was the first place in Ishikawa Prefecture where Paleolithic artifacts were excavated, and numerous Jomon and Yayoi period ruins have also been excavated throughout the town. This suggests that the area around Kyu-Shio and Oshimizu was once fairly open land, and even today there are many historical sites scattered throughout the area where you can sense its history and culture. The town's specialty is plums. Among these is the unique new variety, "Summer Angel," with a sugar content of over 15 degrees.
