In Tamba City, snowfall is limited to a few times a year, but the former Aogaki Town is a heavy snow area. The city's area is the fifth largest in Hyogo Prefecture. Agriculture and forestry are the city's main industries. Manufacturing, meanwhile, is recognized as the second largest industry in the city. Manufacturing produces a variety of products, including beds and bicycle cables. Tourist attractions include Taki Mountains Prefectural Natural Park and the Tamba City Ueno Memorial Museum of Art. The Tamba City Ueno Memorial Museum of Art houses a collection of contemporary art. The city borders four other cities and towns in Hyogo Prefecture, including Tamba Sasayama City and Nishiwaki City, as well as Fukuchiyama City in Kyoto Prefecture.
