About Takarazuka City
Takarazuka City is best known for the Takarazuka Revue, but it is also famous as the birthplace of Tezuka Osamu, one of Japan's most famous manga artists. When Takarazuka City was first established as a city, it didn't have a large population, but as demand grew as a commuter town for Osaka and Kobe, the population began to grow. The city's specialty products include potted plants, carbonated rice crackers, and yakimochi. Carbonated rice crackers are so named because carbonated spring water is used in the manufacturing process. The city is home to the Takarazuka Grand Theater, the Tessai Museum, and Takarazuka Onsen. Takarazuka Onsen is also popular with those who have seen the Takarazuka Revue.
