Arima brush techniques have been designated a prefectural important intangible cultural property, and production accounts for approximately 80% of the national total. Other well-known specialties include Arima doll brushes, carbonated rice crackers, and Kitakami miso. Agriculture is thriving, with rice, strawberries, chrysanthemums, and lilies cultivated.
