Higashinada Ward in Kobe City has long been known as a town of sake breweries. With over 40 sake breweries, it is one of the few sake brewing regions in Japan. The area has all the favorable conditions essential for sake brewing, such as water from Mt. Rokko, Yamadanishiki rice, and a good climate.
