About Inagawa Town
Inagawa Town, Kawabe District, is located in the southeastern part of Hyogo Prefecture, at the northeastern edge of the Hanshin area. It borders Takarazuka City and Sanda City to the west and Tamba Sasayama City to the north. Despite being located just 25 km from the central terminal stations of Western Japan, such as Osaka Station and Umeda Station, the town is blessed with a rich natural environment, centered around forests and rural landscapes. Three large new towns have been developed in the southern part of town: Hankyu Nissei New Town, Inagawa Park Town, and Tsutsujigaoka. These towns function as commuter towns for the northern Hanshin and Hokusetsu areas. The town once came under direct control of the Edo Shogunate following the discovery of a large silver vein. It prospered, boasting an estimated 3,000 silver mines. The Tada Copper and Silver Mine remains a landmark in the town today and has been maintained as a historical highway.
