About Kato City
Kato City is located in central Hyogo Prefecture. To the north and northeast lie the Chugoku Mountains, Mount Mikusa, the site of the ancient Genpei War, and Mount Goho, while to the south lie the Ureshino Plateau and the Aonogahara Hills. Formed in 2006 by the merger of three towns, the city enjoys a warm Seto Inland Sea-style climate year-round, making it a comfortable place to live. Local specialties include fishing hooks, carp streamers, Hina dolls, white peach jam, and Harima and Shiro tea.
