About Kamikawa Town
Kamikawa Town, Kanzaki District, is located almost in the center of Hyogo Prefecture, and is home to many mountains such as Senkamine and Kasagatayama. The town was established in 2005 as a result of the merger of Kamikawa Town, Kanzaki District, and Okawachi Town. One of the town's most famous landmarks is Tonomine Plateau. In autumn, a large amount of Japanese pampas grass grows on Tonomine Plateau. The scenery, which resembles a carpet of Japanese pampas grass, is often photographed. There is another plateau in the town, Mineyama Plateau, where there is a hotel called Mineyama Plateau Hotel RelaXia. The town also holds events related to the plateau, such as the Tonomine Plateau Mountain Burning and the Plateau Road Race Tournament. There is also a festival called the Japanese Pampas Grass Festival.
