Tomamae Town, Tomamae District, is famous for its cluster of wind turbines, one of the largest in Hokkaido. Visible from National Route 232, the cluster of wind turbines has frequently been featured on television, in magazines, and elsewhere. The town's main industries are coastal fishing, dairy farming, and agriculture, with rice farming being particularly popular. Popular tourist spots include the Sankebetsu Brown Bear Incident Reconstruction Site, where visitors can expect to encounter a real brown bear; the Bell of Marital Love, said to grant blessings for family harmony and prosperity; and the Tomamae Yuhigaoka Auto Campground, offering stunning views of the area. Tomamae Yuhigaoka White Beach is also popular as a romantic swimming spot.
