Oketo Town in Tokoro District experiences bitterly cold winters, but in summer, due to the influence of the föhn effect, it is not uncommon for temperatures to reach over 30°C. The eastern area of the town is made up of hills, while the western area is covered with extensive forests. There is one mountain and two rivers within the town. Local specialties include sugar beets, potatoes, and melons. Agriculture is the main industry, but forestry is also thriving, resulting in a large production of woodworking crafts. Tourist attractions and festivals include Lake Oketo, the Oke Craft Center Forest Craft Museum, and the Bariki Dasube Festival, attracting many tourists.
