Koshimizu Town in Shari District faces the Sea of Okhotsk and has little precipitation, with little snow even in winter. Dairy farming and agriculture are thriving here, with a wide variety of agricultural products being harvested, including potatoes, wheat, asparagus, melons, and corn. Koshimizu Town in Shari District is home to a 5-kilometer road known as the Potato Highway. This road is lined with vast potato fields, offering views of Mount Shari and Mount Shiretoko. Fresh vegetables grown in Koshimizu Town are also available for purchase. A potato festival is held in July. There are also many other tourist attractions, including the Furetoi Observatory, Snowmobile Land, and the Koshimizu Primeval Flower Garden.
