About Kiyosatocho
Agriculture is well developed in Kiyosato Town, Shari District, with large-scale field farming. There are also many tourist attractions. Kaminoko Pond, said to have been formed from Lake Mashu's groundwater, is a beautiful, clear blue pond, and at Sakura Falls, a 3.7-meter-high waterfall, you can see cherry salmon diving into the waterfall. Other parks include Shiretoko National Park and Abashiri Quasi-National Park, where you can experience the vast nature of Hokkaido. Climbing Mount Sharidake, selected as one of Japan's 100 most famous mountains, is open and attracts many visitors. Other attractions include a space observatory, campgrounds, fishing, and golf courses. This area receives relatively little snowfall compared to other parts of Hokkaido, and although the winds are strong, it is a comfortable town to live in.
