Ikeda Town in Nakagawa District is known as a wine town. The town cultivates grapes and brews wine, and the Tokachi wine produced in Ikeda Town is famous throughout the country. This wine town is home to the Wine Castle, a wine research institute, and a wine glass fountain in the square in front of JR Ikeda Station, which is a beloved symbol of the town. An autumn wine festival is also held every October. In addition to wine, beans such as kidney beans and adzuki beans are also grown. A famous tourist spot is Kiyomigaoka Park, where approximately 600 cherry trees form a tunnel in the spring. The park also has a park golf course, making it a popular place of relaxation for many people.
