Honbetsu Town, Nakagawa District, is adjacent to Obihiro City and Kitami City, and has roads that allow travel between the east and west of the city, making it an essential transportation network for people in Hokkaido. Travel to Kushiro via the Doto Expressway. Located inland, the town experiences typical Hokkaido cold temperatures in the winter. However, snowfall is less than in other areas of Hokkaido. With many sunny days, agriculture is the main industry. Wheat is the main crop, but rice is also cultivated. Honbetsu Town, Nakagawa District, hosts a variety of events throughout the year. The Honbetsu Kirameki Town Festival is held at the end of summer on August 31st.
