Bifuka Town in Nakagawa District is surrounded by lush greenery, with most of the town's land covered in forest. The name Bifuka comes from the Ainu word "Piuka," which means a place with many stones. Bifuka Town hosts many events and festivals that make use of nature, with seasonal events such as the Nozomi no Mori Cherry Blossom Festival in spring, the Bifuka Furusato Summer Festival in summer, and the Bifuka Winter Festival in winter. Popular tourist spots include the Matsuyama Marsh, a Hokkaido Natural Environment Conservation Area, and the impressive cold water Juroku Falls of Niuppu. Bifuka Island, where you can experience the rich nature on a vast site, is also popular.
