About Yubetsu Town
Agriculture and fishing are thriving in Yubetsu Town, Monbetsu District, and are the town's core industries. The town is famous for being the northernmost apple-producing region in Japan. It is also adjacent to Monbetsu City, Kitami City, Engaru Town, and Saroma Town. Facing the Sea of Okhotsk, the town is home to three lakes and marshes, including Lake Saroma. The Shibunotsunai pit dwelling ruins, a prefectural historic site, and the Salicornia colony at Tsurunuma on the shores of Lake Saroma, a prefectural natural monument, are designated cultural assets of the town.
