Dairy farming is the main industry in Nishiokoppe Village, Monbetsu District. While less than 10% of the village's population is engaged in agriculture, the village is characterized by an increasing number of large-scale farms. There are also a relatively large number of special nursing homes for the elderly, which also create a large number of jobs. Tourist attractions in the village include Gyoja Falls and a deer ranch, and the village's Muraokoshima Festival and Gyoja Falls Festival are held, attracting many visitors.
