About Kitahiroshima City
Kitahiroshima City, adjacent to Sapporo and Ebetsu, prospered as a farming village. However, over time, new town development progressed, and it became a commuter town for the Sapporo metropolitan area. Due to the growing population, it transitioned to its current city status in 1996. This area is also famous as the place where Dr. Clark left the words "Boys Be Ambitious." It is said that the city's name comes from the fact that many Hiroshima residents moved there and developed the area. With travel to New Chitose Airport and Komaki Airport taking just 30 minutes, an industrial park has been built, and many companies have factories and facilities. Specialties of the city include Hirokko udon noodles and daikon radish.
