Shimokawa Town, Kamikawa District, is famous for its ski jumping. It has produced many famous ski jumpers. The town is equipped with four jumps, with K-points of 8m, 26m, 40m, and 65m. They are fully lit at night and have a comprehensive ski jumping training system, making it a place where efforts are made to train ski jumpers. Dairy farming is also thriving in Shimokawa Town, Kamikawa District, and local specialties include wheat, buckwheat, high-sugar tomatoes, and green peas. A famous tourist attraction is the "Mini Great Wall," a structure modeled after the Great Wall of China. In early summer, the town hosts the Great Wall Festival, and in winter, it hosts the Ice Candle Park.
