Rankoshi Town in Isogaya District is a basin surrounded by the Niseko mountain range. With the Shiribetsu River flowing through the center of town, rice farming thrives. It is characterized by a warm climate, but in winter it transforms into a region with heavy snowfall. Rankoshi rice, a brand of rice unique to Rankoshi Town in Isogaya District, is sold exclusively in Hokkaido. Niseko Onsenkyo has direct trains from Sapporo, the center of Hokkaido, and the airport, so transportation is not a problem. Also, since Niseko Onsenkyo has accommodation facilities spread over a very wide area, the quality of the hot springs varies slightly depending on where you go. It has been designated a nationally protected hot spring area and is well-known as a tourist destination, with many people visiting for skiing.
