The southern area of Toyoura Town in Abuta County faces Uchiura Bay, also known as Funka Bay, and has many cliffs. The northern area is covered with forests. Within the town are numerous mountains, including the 1,000-meter-high Konbu-dake. There are also numerous rivers, capes, coastlines, and waterfalls. Due to the town's climate and heavy snowfall in winter, it has been designated as a special heavy snow area. The town's industries are known for agriculture and fisheries. Also, due to its thriving agricultural industry, strawberries are one of the town's specialty products. Tourist attractions include Toyoura Onsen and Kamuichashi Historical Park. Town events include the Ogishi Winter Festival and the Strawberry Pork Festival.
