Mihara City was formed in 2005 through the merger of several towns. Located almost in the center of Hiroshima Prefecture, it is well connected to other areas in the Chugoku-Shikoku region, and is thriving thanks to this location. The climate is warm throughout the year with little rain, a Seto Inland Sea type climate. Transportation is convenient, with a large bus network near Mihara Station and buses connecting to the expressway. There is also a port, and the shipping network is well developed. One of the main events is the Mihara Satsuki Festival. Held every May, the festival sees cherry blossoms blooming in Miyanoura Park. Flea markets and concerts are also held, creating a lively atmosphere.
