Shibukawa City is blessed with abundant nature, with Mount Akagi and Mount Komochi towering above it, and the Tone and Agatsuma rivers flowing through it. During the Edo period, it flourished as a post town on the Mikuni Kaido road. Today, the tourism industry is thriving. Ikaho Onsen is known as one of Japan's most famous hot springs, and the hot spring town is home to Mizusawa Kannon and Mount Kuwana. It's said to be the birthplace of hot spring manju. Local specialties include Mizusawa udon and konjac. Fruit cultivation is also thriving, and visitors can enjoy strawberry, cherry, apple, and blueberry picking. Numerous events are held in the city, including the Ikaho Onsen Stone Steps Hinamatsuri (Doll Festival), the summer tradition of the Shibukawa Belly Button Festival, and the Miyata Firefly Festival.
