Located in southeastern Gunma Prefecture, Isesaki City is blessed with abundant nature, thanks to the Tone River, Hirose River, Hayakawa River, and Nirakawa River flowing through it. Isesaki City has long been a major city in Gunma Prefecture, and has developed as a center for sericulture and a producer of thick woven textiles. Today, it is known nationwide as a textile town. It also has a strong industrial character, with many major companies and large commercial facilities within the city. Local specialties include handwoven crafts and gourds. The city also boasts the Watermelon Road and Kyoho Road, where you can purchase fresh fruit. There are also numerous tourist attractions, including the Isesaki Auto Race, Kakuzoji Temple, and the Akahori History and Folklore Museum.
