Fujioka City is blessed with a natural environment, with numerous towering mountains, including Nishi-Mikaho and Sakurayama, and rivers such as the Ayukawa, Kaburakawa, and Kanagawa rivers. During the Meiji period, the sericulture industry flourished, and the city developed as a lumber hub. Today, tourism and agriculture are thriving. Many visitors come to enjoy popular tourist attractions, including Sakurayama Park, where beautiful flowers bloom; Fuji Hill, where the Fuji Festival is held; Earth and Fire Village, where visitors can experience handicrafts; Sanbashi Gorge, designated a natural monument; and Yashio Hydrangea Village.
