Ena City is bordered by three neighboring prefectures, including Gifu Prefecture, Nagano Prefecture, and Aichi Prefecture. Ena City is relatively cool in the summer, but tends to be colder in the winter. Precipitation and snowfall are low in winter, and the air is dry. The city's downtown is located in Oimachi, a district that plays an important role as the center of the city in many areas. Tourist attractions include Ena Gorge, the Nakasendo Hiroshige Museum, and Japan Taisho Village. Specialties of the city include chestnut kinton (sweetened sweet potato) and sho miso (soybean paste). Sho miso is a local dish eaten as a side dish for dinner.
