Kanayama Town, Onuma District, borders six towns and villages in Fukushima Prefecture and Aga Town in Niigata Prefecture. It is surrounded by abundant nature, including the Tadami River and Mount Tanegamori. The spring water from Honmyo-Kagura, a sacred mountain at 1,266 meters above sea level, is renowned as a fine spring. The summit offers a panoramic view of Mount Bandai and other mountains, and during peak season, it attracts many climbers. Lake Numazawa, the town's symbol, is home to numerous wild birds, making it a great place to enjoy birdwatching. The town also boasts a campground, a fairy art museum, and a spacious park. The town hosts the Lake Numazawa Water Festival every August. Local specialties include disposable chopsticks made from Oku-Aizu cedar, red pumpkins, and mineral-rich Ogenryu rice.
