About Yukawa Village

Yukawa Village in Kawanuma County, located in the Aizu Basin, is home to the Hibashi River and Aga River. Surrounded by abundant nature, agriculture thrives here. Aizu Yukawa rice varieties such as Koshihikari and asparagus are cultivated here. Local specialties include locust tsukudani (simmered food in soy sauce), which is only available in winter, and Aizu beef. Known tourist spots include the ruins of Kitada Castle and Shojoji Temple. Kitada Castle was built in 1193, and only the main enclosure, approximately 2 meters high, remains today. Shojoji Temple was built in 807, and the Shojo Nembutsu Dance (Katsujo Nembutsu Dance) has been designated an intangible folk cultural asset of Yukawa Village. The park in the Yukawa Village Industrial Park is filled with beautiful flowers blooming throughout the seasons, making it a great place to enjoy strolls and nature observation.
