Asakawa Town in Ishikawa County is bordered by four municipalities: Shirakawa City, Ishikawa Town, Tanagura Town, and Samegawa Village. The area is home to the mountains of Cemetery Ishiyama and Shiroyama, as well as the Yashiro River, a tributary of the Abukuma River. Asakawa's specialty products include its warding off evil spirits, sake, and dried noodles. Tourist attractions include the Dr. Tomizo Yoshida Memorial Hall and the Kumogoro Iris Garden. Annual events include the Asakawa Town Road Race and the Fireworks Village Festival. The Fireworks Village Festival is so popular that approximately 30,000 people come to see the fireworks every year, attracting many repeat visitors from all over the country.
