Hirono Town in Futaba County has three main water sources, including the Kitasako River, and also a swamp called Futatsu-numa. With little snowfall in winter and a warm climate throughout the year, the town even earned itself the catchphrase "The town that heralds spring in Tohoku." It's also home to J-Village Stadium. Historical sites in the area include the Kitasako Jizo Statue and the Steam Locomotive Monument. Other popular tourist destinations include Oriki Onsen and Me no Yu Onsen. Me no Yu Onsen's spring waters are said to have healing properties for eye diseases. Hirono Town's festivals in Futaba County include the Hirono Town Summer Festival and the Hiro Children's Song Festival.
