The neighboring municipalities of Futaba Town in Futaba District are Okuma Town and Namie Town, also in Futaba District. With an area of 51.40 square kilometers, the town was formerly called Shireha Town, but its name was changed in 1956. As a result, the town was renamed Futaba Town, and remains so to this day. The town's tree is the Chinese chinaberry, its flower is the cherry blossom, and its bird is the pheasant. Futaba Town in Futaba District is characterized by a climate with almost no snowfall, which is fully utilized in the town's industry.
