Located southeast of Fukuoka City, Onojo City is in high demand as a commuter town for the city. One of the city's famous local products is Onojo Honey, made from honey harvested from Japanese honeybees that live in Onojo City. The shochu "Oonojo Ichibanboshi" is also popular.
