Kokuraminami Ward, Kitakyushu City, is one of the administrative districts that make up Kitakyushu City and is located in the southeastern part of the city. Kokuraminami Ward is nationally famous as the birthplace of "Ouma bamboo shoots," but it is also developing as a commuter town within the city, and its population is on the rise.
