About Sue Town
Sue Town, Kasuya District, is located approximately 10 km east of Fukuoka City. It is bordered by five other municipalities, including Kasuya Town, Shime Town, and Sasaguri Town. The eastern side is a coal-producing region, while the town's central area is in the southwest. The coal industry was previously thriving here, but declined following the energy revolution of the 1950s. In recent years, the area from the southwest to northwest of the town has developed into a commuter town for Fukuoka City. A popular tourist attraction is the remains of the Fukuoka Domain's official porcelain kiln. Facilities include the Sue Town History and Folklore Museum, Azalea Hall Sue, and the Sue Town Library. The town's tree is the Japanese bayberry, its flower is the azalea, and its bird is the Japanese bush warbler.
