About Iizuka City
Iizuka City, Fukuoka Prefecture, is located in central Fukuoka Prefecture. It was formed in 2006 through the merger of one city and four towns, including the former Iizuka City. It is the third most populous city in the prefecture, after Fukuoka City, Kitakyushu City, and Kurume City. The city has an inland climate, with large temperature differences between summer and winter, and snowfall in winter, allowing visitors to enjoy the scenery of each season. Tourist attractions include Katsumori Park, located in the city center and beloved for its cherry blossoms and azaleas, and Ikawa Onsen, said to be effective against atopic dermatitis and arteriosclerosis. Ikawa Onsen hosts the "Yumatsuri" (Hot Spring Festival) in the fall, where visitors can enjoy various events and bathe at all facilities at half price, attracting many tourists every year.
