About Fukutsu City
Fukutsu City was formed in 2005 by the merger of Tsuyazaki Town and Fukuma Town. It borders Munakata City, Miyawaka City, and Koga City. This area was home to the fixed ticket system, which is the origin of the National Health Insurance System. Located halfway between the designated cities of Fukuoka City and Kitakyushu City, and with convenient transportation, it has developed as a commuter town. Tourist attractions include Miyajidake Shrine, Fukuma Beach, and Hotaru no Sato. Green sea turtles live on Tsuyazaki Beach. The city is also committed to environmental conservation. Namazu no Sato, with its lawn plaza and various sports fields, is a popular leisure spot. Sunpia Fukuoka offers accommodation in addition to sports facilities.
