Chuo Ward, Fukuoka City, is one of the administrative wards that make up Fukuoka City, and together with Hakata Ward, it forms the city's center. Located slightly east of Fukuoka City, it functions as the city's hub. The northeastern part of Chuo Ward is home to Tenjin, Kyushu's largest shopping district, as well as central urban areas such as Daimyo, Imaizumi, Nagahama, and Yakuin. The central and southern parts of the ward function as residential areas. Tourist attractions include commercial facilities such as ACROS Fukuoka, as well as Ohori Park, Maizuru Park, Fukuoka Castle Ruins, Fukuoka Yahoo! Dome, and the Fukuoka Prefectural Museum of Art. ACROS Fukuoka was formerly the site of the Fukuoka Prefectural Office, and together with ACROS Fukuoka, it forms Tenjin Central Park. Many companies have their headquarters in Chuo Ward, making it an economic center.
