Buzen City is located in the southeastern tip of Fukuoka Prefecture, overlooking Mount Kubodai and Mount Inugatake to the south, with the fan-shaped Buzen Plain. The northern part of the city faces the Suo-Nada Sea, making it a thriving fishing industry. Blessed with such abundant nature, the city also boasts many springs, with Hata Reisen being one of the most famous springs, making it a popular tourist spot. The Seto Inland Sea climate means the city enjoys a warm climate throughout the year, with little rainfall, making it an extremely livable place. An industrial zone has formed around Ushima Port, and other industries include fishing and rice farming. A famous tourist spot is the Thousand-Armed Kannon statue, also known as the Milk Kannon, at Sensui-ji Temple.
