Echizen Town in Nyu District is home to many Echizen ware kilns and is known as a major producer of Echizen ware. As the birthplace of Echizen ware, the town's industry is thriving in the pottery industry. Fishing is also a major industry, with a large catch of Echizen crab. There are six fishing ports within the town. Tourist attractions include the Echizen Pottery Village and the Echizen Crab Museum. There are also many hot springs within the town, including Echizen Kuriya Onsen and Echizen Tamagawa Onsen. Town festivals include the Echizen Pottery Festival and the Echizen Summer Festival. Echizen crab is designated as the town's designated fish. There are four neighboring municipalities, including Fukui City and Sabae City.
