About Minami Echizen Town
Minami Echizen Town, Nanjo District, was established in 2005 through the merger of two towns and one village. While the former Imajo Town is designated as a special heavy snow area, the former Kono Village enjoys a relatively warm climate, resulting in climate variations across the town. One of the remaining two towns is the former Nanjo Town. Minami Echizen Town, Nanjo District, has three fishing ports, which are essential to the town's industry. Tourist attractions include Echizen-Kaga Coast Quasi-National Park and Kinome Pass. The town also boasts three hot spring resorts, including Hanahasu Onsen. In addition to cities and towns in Fukui Prefecture, neighboring municipalities include Ibigawa Town in Gifu Prefecture and Nagahama City in Shiga Prefecture. The town's area is 343.84 square kilometers.
