About Shikokuchuo City
Shikokuchuo City was established in 2004 through the merger of two cities, one town, and one village in Ehime Prefecture. Bordering Kagawa, Tokushima, and Kochi prefectures, the city has developed as a key transportation hub. The city boasts the highest shipping value of paper products in the country, and is known as the "City of Paper." While the region is primarily a commercial city, it is also blessed with abundant nature, including numerous towering mountains such as Shiozukamine and Akaboshiyama. Seasonal plants such as cherry blossoms and cosmos bloom on the Suiha Plateau, and the city boasts a promenade and athletic fields. Shiozuka Plateau offers paragliding and a large campground. Local specialties include Shingu tea, mizuhiki crafts, and yamaimo.
