Urayasu City, Chiba Prefecture, was established in 1981 in the area adjacent to Ichikawa City and Edogawa Ward, Tokyo. Since the opening of Tokyo Disneyland in 1983, the city has been attracting many tourists from Japan and around the world. It has a wide range of rail and bus services, and many hotels. Local specialties include rice crackers and tsukudani, and events include the Urayasu Sansha Festival and fireworks displays. In addition to Disney Resort, other tourist attractions include the Urayasu Local Museum. The area is also famous for holding its Coming of Age Ceremony at Tokyo Disneyland.
