Tateyama City, located in southern Chiba Prefecture, is a thriving fishing and agricultural region. Strawberry picking is available from January to May. Flowers are also cultivated here, including poppies, rape blossoms, and sunflowers. Spring flower picking is available from November to May. Festivals held in Tateyama City include the Mōna Taro Festival, a nationally designated Important Intangible Cultural Property, and the Susaki Minokoodori Festival, a prefecturally designated Intangible Folk Cultural Property, creating a lively atmosphere. Other events include the Tateyama Bay Fireworks Festival and the National University Flamenco Festival, both held in August. Tateyama Family Park is also home to activities like candle and wreath making, as well as putting golf. The city is also known for having many famous people from the area.
