About Kamogawa City

Kamogawa City is home to two mountains, Mt. Atago and Mt. Kiyosumi, and four rivers, including the Kamo River and the Machizaki River. The city's tree is the pine, its flower is the nanohana, and its symbol is the sea bream. Industries include fishing, manufacturing, and agriculture. Tourist attractions include Kamogawa Sea World, Futomi Flower Center, and Uchiurayama Prefectural Forest. There are also three hot springs. Famous events include the Kamogawa Autumn Festival, held the weekend before Respect for the Aged Day. Kamogawa City was also the site of Japan's first national surfing championship. Surfing is also popular, with many surf shops within the city.
