About Choshi City
Choshi City is a fishing port town where large catches are landed. It is rich in seafood, including sardines, mackerel, horse mackerel, bonito, and alfonsino. Soy sauce is also a local specialty, with Yamasa and Higeta soy sauces available. Rice is also produced here, and the city is famous for its nuresenbei (rice crackers), which are dipped in soy sauce while still hot after baking. The moist texture allows you to enjoy the rich flavor of the soy sauce. Cabbage and melons are also harvested here. Choshi City's events include the Spring Tide Festival in June, the Kinmedai Festival in July, the Port Festival in August, and the Industrial Festival in October. Tourist attractions include the Inubosaki Lighthouse, Inubosaki Marine Park, and the Earth's Round View Observatory.
