Located south of Kujukuri Beach, Ichinomiya Town in Chosei County is a town rich in nature, with expansive forests and farmlands. It flourished as a castle town in the 16th and 17th centuries. Today, agriculture and tourism thrive. Blessed with the warm climate of the Pacific Ocean, Ichinomiya grows tomatoes, pears, melons, and other crops. The "Chosei Melon" is a nationally famous muskmelon. A local specialty is sushi, a pressed saury sushi. There are many tourist attractions, including Tamasaki Shrine, Toramiji Temple, and Lake Dongting. Swimming and other marine sports are also popular. A fireworks display is held at Ichinomiya Beach in August, attracting 50,000 spectators annually. In September, the town's largest event, the Ichinomiya Festival, is held, featuring a Kazusa Dance contest.
