Towada City in Aomori Prefecture is known as one of Japan's three largest frontier settlements. Located at the foot of Mount Hakkoda, the city's beautiful natural scenery, including Lake Towada and the Oirase Gorge, remains vibrant to this day. Modern urban planning has been implemented, resulting in orderly cityscapes, but the city's abundant natural beauty has been preserved, resulting in a beautiful, harmonious streetscape.
