About Sannohe Town
Sannohe Town, Sannohe District, is located at the southern end of Sannohe District, Aomori Prefecture, bordering Iwate Prefecture and Akita Prefecture on both ends. It has long flourished as a central town in Sannohe District. The town boasts relatively flat terrain, with the Mabechi River, Sarube River, and Kumahara River flowing through it. Its climate is on the Pacific coast, and despite being located in Aomori Prefecture, it is characterized by low snowfall. As a settlement town since ancient times, Jomon pottery has also been excavated. Sannohe Castle was built during the Sengoku period, and the town flourished as a castle town. The town's main industries are commerce and agriculture, and it is known as a major tobacco leaf producer. Furthermore, due to its rich historical heritage, including Jomon pottery, tourism has recently become more active.
