Sannohe Town, Sannohe District, is located at the southern end of Sannohe District, Aomori Prefecture, with both ends of the town bordering Iwate Prefecture and Akita Prefecture. It has long flourished as a central town in Sannohe District. The town boasts relatively flat terrain, with the Mabechi River, Sarube River, and Kumahara River flowing through it. The town enjoys a Pacific Ocean climate, characterized by low snowfall despite being in Aomori Prefecture. Jomon pottery has been excavated here since the town was a settled settlement since ancient times. Sannohe Castle was built during the Sengoku period, and the town flourished as a castle town. The town's main industries are commerce and agriculture, and it is known as a major tobacco leaf producer. Furthermore, with its many historical heritage sites, including Jomon pottery, tourism has become increasingly popular in recent years.
