Mutsu City, which merged with Aomori Prefecture in 2005 and now has the largest land area, is blessed with a rich natural environment. Osorezan, one of Japan's three major sacred sites along with Mount Hiei, offers a unique landscape. Yagen Onsen is located north of Mount Osorezan, a quiet and tranquil hot spring resort surrounded by nature. In autumn, you can soak in the hot springs while admiring the autumn leaves. The cold water from Mount Osorezan is said to have rejuvenating properties, and legend has it that each cup makes you 10 years younger. Mutsu City is home to many tourist attractions, centered around Mount Osorezan.
