Located within 80km of Aomori City, Oirase Town in Kamikita District borders various regions of Aomori Prefecture to the east, west, north, and south. Its source is Lake Towada, which flows into the Pacific Ocean. A distinctive feature of this region is that it receives relatively little snowfall, even within the prefecture. The Momogawa River in Oirase Town, Kamikita District, is home to a historic brewery dating back to the Meiji era. It is said that the sake produced here is the largest in Aomori Prefecture. The town also boasts the Oyama Shogi Memorial Museum, where visitors can learn about the history of shogi and view related materials. Even those unfamiliar with shogi can enjoy the facility.
